Hi, and thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Jenny, and I’m a 20 year old student. I’m a huge advocate for fitness and believe that learning how to nourish your body is truly life changing.
I started my fitness journey in October 2018 after being inspired by a video from YouTuber Alivia D’Andrea. I found that I was in the exact same situation as her and quickly realised that the only solution was to create an action plan for my unhealthy student lifestyle. I was at what is believed to be a healthy weight from health professionals, however I was unhappy with my unhealthy food habits and lack of exercise, and I knew it was time to change.
I made the mistake of jumping straight into weight loss without any knowledge of fitness terminology or the science behind calories and how the body functions. Through a heavy calorie deficit and tough cardio workouts, I was left underweight with a bony physique. While restricting your calories and incorporating exercise into your lifetstyle does play a considerable role in weight loss, I began to develop an unhealthy relationship with food and was far from my personal goals. My goal has always been to get stronger and more toned, so this was very discouraging after all my what I thought was hard work.
Fast forward six months down the line, I’m recharging myself in a calories surplus, keeping my protein intake high and testing my body’s limits through strength and weight training. From this, I hope to achieve my goal. Educating yourself correctly about weight loss is the first step on your journey. Scrap celebrity fad diets and 100 crunches a day, fuel yourself with nutritious food your body will thank you for and train smarter to see results. Remember, consistency is key!
